From today's perspective, the 2024 summer flight schedule will have 45 departures per week from Saarbrücken Airport in Germany, offered by five airlines. Unsurprisingly, Palma de Mallorca remains number one with 14 weekly circulations.

The holiday program currently includes nine destinations that should be visited regularly. These also include Fuerteventura, Las Palmas and Djerba. It will go to Antalya comparatively often, as various carriers have signed up for up to eleven weekly routes. In this regard, however, it remains to be seen whether one or more providers will withdraw before the beginning of summer 2024.

The background is that Turkish carriers compete extremely fiercely in Germany-Turkey traffic. As early as the summer of 2023, some airports were experiencing real overcapacity. In some cases, the tickets were then sold at bargain prices or one or another provider withdrew from the route before or during the 2023 summer flight schedule. Airlines and tourism experts are currently assuming that there could be high demand for Turkey in the warm season next year. Once again, Antalya is said to be particularly popular and is already generating high numbers of advance bookings.

In Saarbrücken, travel providers are also reacting to the fact that Greece continues to be in high demand. For example, there will be three weekly flights to the island of Crete in summer 2024. Flights to Heraklion Airport are offered. In May 2024, Becker Touristik will launch some special flights. These lead to, among other places, Faro, Paphos and Tirana. The last destination mentioned is marketed by Mundo Reisen.

According to the current state of affairs, there should be no significant changes in domestic German traffic from Saarbrücken. Danish AIr Transport wants to continue to offer Berlin up to eleven times a week and three round trips per week are planned to Hamburg. Whether there could possibly be an increase is currently still completely open.
