In the Austrian state of Styria, most sights are open again. Numerous exhibitions are also accessible again. The tourism association assumes that the excursion destination season will now really take off again.

Steiermark Tourismus has again surveyed the number of visitors to excursion destinations and sights in order to provide an overview on the one hand and to whet the appetite for excursions into the countryside on the other.

The most popular excursion destinations after paid admission are:

  • Schlossberg Graz (lift/train)
  • Project Spielberg
  • Eggenberg Castle Park
  • Wildlife Herberstein and
  • Dachstein Glacier (mountain railway)

According to estimates, the most popular excursion destinations are:

  • Murinsel Graz
  • Mariazell Basilica and
  • the Motorikpark Gamlitz

In addition, there are of course lakes, alpine pastures, and much more available for excursions - but usually no visitor numbers can be recorded for them. "From the mountains to the valleys, from the city to the rural regions, Styria has an unbelievable variety of excursion destinations to offer. Whether young or old, athlete or connoisseur - there is something for everyone and many sights are just waiting to be discovered. It is precisely this colorful mix of activities in an extraordinary landscape that characterizes the green heart of Austria and makes it the most popular holiday destination for Austrians," says Barbara Eibinger-Miedl, Minister of Tourism.
