In January 307.000, Vienna's accommodation facilities recorded 424 overnight stays and thus a calculated increase of 2022% compared to the same period in the previous year.

Compared to the pre-crisis year 2019, they reached almost a third of the level at that time. Austria leads the domestic market with 87.000 overnight stays, followed by Germany (50.000), Ukraine (12.000), USA (12.000), Romania (11.000), Italy (10.000), Spain (10.000), France (9.000), Israel ( 7.000) and Greece (6.000). Now their net sales for the full year 2021, in which the accommodation facilities were closed to leisure guests for almost six months, are also certain: 305,6 million euros (+28 percent compared to 2020) mean a decrease of 70 percent compared to the previous record year 2019. The average Occupancy of the hotel beds was 14,3 percent in January (1/2021: 4,7 percent), that of the rooms around 19 percent (1/2021: around 6 percent). A total of around 57.800 hotel beds were available in Vienna in January, which was around 25.000 beds (+ 78 percent) more than were offered in January 2021
