Free landings in 2020 and discounts on other fees should contribute to rapid growth in Austria.

Flughafen Wien AG wants to accelerate the restart of air traffic through significantly reduced fees. For 2020, the landing fees are even to be canceled entirely and discounts are also to be granted on passenger-related fees. Board member Julian Jäger announced this to the daily newspaper “Die Presse”.

The prerequisite for taking advantage of the discounts is that at least 65 percent of the capacity originally planned for 2020 is carried out. This means a discount of up to four euros per passenger. However, Vienna Airport is now also demanding further state aid, because according to the current status, short-time working will expire in September 2020.
