In the United Kingdom, after England, Scotland will also repeal almost all "Corona rules" from Monday. However, in certain areas the mask requirement is adhered to. The “distance regulations” then no longer apply in restaurants and pubs.

From August 9, 2021, Scotland will lift most of the remaining Corona measures. In contrast to England, the mask requirement in indoor public spaces will be adhered to. Vaccinated persons then no longer have to be quarantined. Contact restrictions and distance rules are lifted.

In gastronomy and at concerts and other major events, there is no longer any need to adhere to mandatory distances that have hardly been observed anyway. The ruling party emphasizes, however, that the easing should not be seen as a final victory over the corona virus. The part of England lifted almost all corona rules last month and received harsh criticism from governments in other countries.
