Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Skyup Airlines has no longer been able to pursue its actual business model as a low-cost airline. The fleet was taken out of the country in good time and switched to ACMI and charter flights. In the summer of 2023, 1.047.555 passengers were transported.
In ACMI and charter traffic, Skyup said it carried out 1 flights between April 1 and November 2023, 6.904. They traveled on 440 routes in 43 countries. This exceeded the performance of the previous season, as at that time there were 5.412 movements in this area, on which 827.482 passengers were traveling. During the 2023 summer season, SkyUp Airlines operated flights on behalf of Tunisair, FlyOne, HiSky SRL, HiSky Europe SRL, Wizz Air Malta, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, Corendon Dutch, Tailwind Airlines and FlyEgypt.
“The airline is showing positive momentum and increasing the number of flights under ACMI contracts. We are grateful to our partners for their cooperation and will continue to expand this business direction. At the same time, our strategic plans are not only limited to Europe: SkyUp Airlines received FAR129 and FAOC certificates for foreign airlines in the USA and Canada, respectively. This allows the Ukrainian airline to expand its activities in North America, that is, to offer ACMI services and operate charter flights,” comments Dmytro Seroukhov, CEO of SkyUp Airlines.
