The Latvian airline Air Baltic will equip its Airbus A220-300 fleet with Starlink internet. But they don't want to leave it at that, but are evaluating further possibilities within the company to explore the practical use of SpaceX's satellite internet connection.

“Last month we announced that we are partnering with US company Starlink to gradually bring free, fast and unlimited internet connectivity to our entire fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft. This will make Air Baltic the first airline in Europe to introduce the modern connectivity provided by Starlink on board,” explains company boss Martin Gauss. “The Starlink product and its unsurpassed qualities offer almost unlimited possibilities to Air Baltic. That's why this month we launched an internal initiative that brings all teams together to think about different ways to achieve benefits - be it from the perspective of the individual passenger or company-wide. The initiative is part of Air Baltic's ideaHub, an already established internal innovation and idea generation system that has one main goal: to improve our passenger service and increase efficiency within the company".

The Latvian carrier has announced that in the future it will be possible to have WiFi Internet, powered by Starlink on board the Airbus A220-300 fleet. However, the necessary STC approval must still be obtained for this. In this context, they work closely with SpaceX. Installation is expected to begin later this year.
