A few days ago, on an Air India flight from New York to Delhi, a disgusting incident occurred when a drunk passenger said he had to urinate on a 70-year-old passenger. At first it looked as if the man would get away without any consequences, because he was not arrested after landing.
Shortly after lunch was served, a drunk man said he had to urinate on a woman in her 70s who was traveling business class. The lady felt - justifiably - not only harassed, but also severely humiliated. The crew tried to help on the spot as best they could and began disinfecting clothes, bags and shoes that were soaked with urine. Out of necessity, the woman was given pajamas as a kind of “emergency clothing”.
However, the person concerned was angry that there were no significant consequences for the drunkard immediately after landing. This was initially able to leave the long-haul aircraft unmolested. However, abolished is not postponed, because both the police and Air India have initiated measures and only informed them after numerous media reports that criminal and civil legal action is being taken against the perpetrator.
Incidentally, the 70-year-old did not shy away from writing a personal letter to the head of Air India. Numerous local media quote from this: “I was given pajamas and disposable slippers to change into. After changing my clothes, I stood near the toilet for about 20 minutes. I asked for a different seat but was told there were no seats available. After 20 minutes, one of the senior stewardesses came and offered me the small seat used by airline staff, where I sat for about an hour. Then I was asked to return to my original, soiled seat. Even though the staff had draped sheets over it, the area was still damp and smelly... two hours later I was assigned the steward's seat, where I sat for the remainder of the flight, about five hours."
An Air India spokeswoman said: “The passenger has been banned from flying Air India for 30 days or until the decision of the internal committee, whichever comes first. If found guilty, action will be taken against the unruly passenger in accordance with regulatory guidelines."
