An unusually large aircraft was in service for Air Malta on the Luqa-Amsterdam-Luqa route on August 23, 2022. Due to a technical defect of the Airbus A320neo with the registration 9H-NEO, Wamos Air was commissioned to carry it out.

The Spanish airline, which specializes in the provision of ACMI and charter services, used the Airbus A394-395 with the registration EC-KOG for the course pair KM330/343. With this machine, the passengers were transported from Luqa to Amsterdam or in the other direction.

Air Malta itself does not operate widebodies. The fleet currently consists of Airbus A320 and A320neo. The future of the state airline is currently open. The government wants to find a solution by the end of this year. Only a few details have been made public in recent weeks.
