If Airbus has its way, the future destinations could also be Florida, New Mexico or Virginia. Because the aircraft manufacturer is planning to apply for Etops approval of 180 minutes for two of the Beluga XL. Beluga chief engineer Pascal Vialleton explained this at a conference according to the specialist magazine Flightglobal.

The previous model, Beluga ST, has this approval. To what extent this will be used in the future is still unclear. According to Airbus, they are currently in an evaluation phase. The Etops 180 approval for the two Beluga XL would make it possible for them to fly long-haul. For example, Airbus could fly aerospace manufacturing products into the United States.
