The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus was able to increase sales by 2022 percent to 27 billion euros in the third quarter of 13,3. However, at the same time it had to be announced that the A321XLR program would be delayed further.
The group was able to announce adjusted EBIT of EUR 836 million. Compared to the same period last year, this has increased by 26 percent. The surplus improved by 66 percent to 667 million euros. The US competitor Boeing had to have one this week announce extremely high quarterly loss.
Airbus assumes that it will achieve an operating profit of around 2023 billion euros for the full year 5,5. The company is sticking to its goal of handing over 700 civilian machines to customers. The weak euro exchange rate is currently having a negative effect, but the cash flow could be increased because high advance payments were received from airlines and leasing companies.
However, the European aircraft manufacturer also had to announce that the XLR variant of the A321 will once again arrive later than announced. The approval process takes more time than expected. This long-haul aircraft was originally intended to be delivered by the end of 2023, but management has now announced that it will not be ready before the second quarter of 2024.
