Oneworld member American Airlines will see a change in leadership at the end of March 2022. The long-time company boss Doug Parker resigns in the direction of pension. He will be succeeded by Robert Isom, who is already the number two of the carrier.
Parker will, however, continue to work for American Airlines as he takes over the chairmanship of the board of directors. The manager has been at the helm of airlines since 2001 and has been able to maintain his position in the course of numerous mergers.
He has headed America West Airlines since September 2001 and became head of US Airways after the merger. After this was merged with American Airlines in 2013, Doug Parker took over the management of the group.
