In December 2022, a new provider specializing in ACMI and charter services wants to start up in Turkey. Antalya-based BBN Airlines will initially operate two Airbus A321s.

The Turkish civil aviation authority explained, among other things, that the start-up is currently in the approval process. However, no one wanted to give an exact time for the possible granting of AOC and operating license. The headquarters of BBN Airlines is located in Antalya.

Not much is currently known about potential charter and/or wet lease customers. When asked, the carrier merely stated that charter flights would primarily be operated between Turkey and other European countries. These should mainly lead to Antalya. You could also fly on behalf of other airlines.

The two Airbus A321 aircraft, which have not yet been specified, will have a single-class configuration. Since the focus is on holiday flights, according to local media reports, the seating should be correspondingly narrow. Only this year is with Mavi Gok Airlines a competitor that is pursuing a similar business model.

Antalya is currently experiencing a real boom. This is also due to the fact that Turkey has currently positioned itself as a destination for cheap holidays. They try to attract as many tourists as possible from both the EU and the Russian Federation. The traffic between Moscow and Antalya is the same during the summer time a veritable airlift. Southwind airline is currently concentrating particularly strong on the Russia traffic.
