Many airlines have tried the Antwerp-London City route. However, there was no lasting success. Now Luxair wants to know, because on January 16, 2023, a non-stop connection will be established between the two cities.

Initially, this route will be served four times a week. As a rule, turboprop aircraft of the type de Havilland Dash 8-400 are to be used as aircraft. March 29, 2023 will increase to five rotations per week. The aircraft will not be stationed in Antwerp, but will fly in from London City. The carrier also flies to the inner-city airport of the capital of the United Kingdom from its home base in Luxembourg.

In the past, BA Cityflyer, VLM, Cityjet and Air Antwerp, among others, have tried flying between London City and Antwerp. However, neither the carriers mentioned nor the many that were not even listed were permanently successful. Luxair will therefore have to prove that it is possible to fly economically on this route.
