From October 1, 2021, there will be extensive easing of entry in Argentina. The Ministry of Health also announced that the mask requirement will be lifted in closed rooms without large crowds.

The reason for the decision is that the vaccination coverage is well advanced and the number of new infections every day is falling sharply. However, entry is only relaxed for the time being from neighboring countries.

The government announced that as early as September 24, 2021, citizens and persons with residence or working permits will be able to return to Argentina without quarantine. From October 1, 2021, the company will also open up to neighboring countries, creating so-called “Safe Travel Corridors” with these. There will be daily entry quotas.

Argentina wants to monitor the effects during October 2021 and then decide whether the borders will also be opened to people coming from other countries from November 1, 2021. In any case, the quotas should then be increased, but a withdrawal is reserved if there should be a sharp increase in new infections.

Regardless of this, Argentina stipulates that you have to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. The last necessary dose must have been administered at least 14 days before entry. A negative PCR test must also be submitted. In Argentina, another PCR test must be completed no earlier than five and no later than seven days. Vaccinated people are exempt from quarantine.

Unvaccinated people are also allowed to enter, but have to be segregated. When crossing the border, a rapid antigen test may also be required. A PCR test must be carried out on the seventh day of quarantine. This regulation also applies expressly to minors, so that there is no exception to isolation for them, unless they are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
