GPA-DJP union calls on around 3.000 employees to participate.

On Monday and Tuesday, the approximately 3.000 ground staff at Austrian Airlines must vote on the "key points program" agreed between the management board, the floor works council and the GPA-DJP union. This provides for a temporary reduction in salaries and savings in salary valuations.

"If the ongoing negotiations on state aid show improvements compared to the assumptions made when the paper was drawn up, the employees' savings contribution will be reduced by means of an improvement clause," says Karl Dürtscher, Federal Managing Director of the GPA-DJP. "It is important to us to create transparency and to actively involve employees in the ongoing process," adds Boden works council chairman Rene Pfister.

“This step, which is painful for everyone involved, is intended to make an important contribution to securing the AUA, the business, congress and tourism location, so that Austria can continue to play an important transport hub function in the future. With the measures planned or implemented by the state, owners, suppliers and employees, it should be possible to get back on the road to success, ”said Dürtscher and Pfister.
