With effect from April 17, 2022, Australia is relaxing entry requirements: people who have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 will then no longer have to present a negative corona test. So far, Downunder has required that a PCR result be submitted.
From an Australian point of view, one is considered fully vaccinated if one can prove at least two injections. According to local authorities, the additional requirement of presenting a negative PCR test has not proven to be very effective. However, the fact that only vaccinated persons are allowed to enter the country is to be maintained.
There are currently no efforts to abolish the obligation to wear masks on airplanes or cruise ships. Health Secretary Greg Hunt described these as particularly important.
