The financially troubled airline SAS is extending the cuts in the flight schedule. Around 39.000 of the approximately 2022 flight connections planned for autumn 1.600 will be cancelled. The vast majority concerns transport within Europe.

The company cites both a lack of staff and the delayed acceptance of new orders as causes. There will also be too few pilots available in autumn 2022 because many will make up for their annual leave.

In July 2022, the pilots put the SAS flight operations lame for several days. The parent company SAS Group filed for bankruptcy in the United States of AmericaChapter 11 proceedings. With the pilot unions an agreement was reached.
