The Romanian airline Animawings, in which Aegean Airlines holds 51 percent, will go on the line in the 2023 summer flight schedule. Up to now, the carrier has specialized in the implementation of charter flights and also provided ACMI services on a case-by-case basis.
Starting from the home base in Bucharest, nine routes between Romania and Greece will be gradually added. Some of these have already been released for booking. These are tourist routes that are initially limited to the 2023 summer timetable period.
In the period from June 6 to September 26, 2023, the carrier intends to head for the Greek island of Rhodes twice a week from the Romanian capital. It is scheduled to go to Zykynthos once a week between June 3rd and September 30th, 2023. Corfu is served up to twice a week between June 7, 2023 and September 27, 2023.
Between 24th June and 2nd September 2023 Kos is on offer twice a week. Chania will be served from June 26th to September 11th, 2023 with the same frequency. Once a week it goes to Kefallinia between June 28, 2023 and September 6, 2023. Two round trips per week are planned to Mykonos between June 30, 2023 and September 8, 2023.
The Romanian carrier flies to Santorini twice a week between July 3 and September 7, 2023. The line should start on May 11, 2023 in the direction of Heraklion. This route will initially be served once a week. Between July 5 and September 25, 2023, Animawings will increase to three weekly rotations.
