The Canadian airline Porter Airlines announced at the Farnborough Air Show that an existing Embraer E195-E2 order would be increased by 20 aircraft. The total order volume is now 50 copies.

In July 2021, the regional carrier announced that one 30 Embraer E195-E2 fixed orders. At the same time, options were secured for up to 50 additional units. The number of purchase rights remains unchanged, as the additional machines ordered do not come from this contingent.

It is currently assumed that the first E2 jet can be taken over in the course of the second half of 2022. The regional jets will operate from Ottawa, Montréal Trudeau, Halifax and Toronto Pearson to business and leisure destinations throughout Canada, the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Porter Airlines currently operates 29 de Havilland Dash 8-400 turboprop aircraft. The main hub is maintained at the inner-city Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Due to noise regulations, jets are not allowed to fly there.
