At Vienna-Schwechat Airport, Cargolux, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways will in future be handled by Swissport Cargo Services Austria. The service provider gets around 20 percent more volume every year.

According to Swissport, the freight volume handled by the company in Vienna is around 100.000 tons. This should correspond to around two percent of the group-wide volume. Etihad Airways announced a passenger route between Abu Dhabi and Vienna last year. Due to the corona pandemic, this has already been postponed several times. It is currently announced that this will be included in the summer flight schedule of 2021. The conclusion of a cargo handling contract with Swissport is an indication that the plans are being pursued.
