Linz Airport in Upper Austria was able to handle significantly more passengers again in July and August 2021. This is particularly due to the charter offer. The airport counted 16.944 passengers and 259 flight movements in the traditionally high-volume August.

The start of the year 2021 in Linz was extremely difficult, because due to the lockdowns as well as the entry and quarantine regulations, there were no passenger flights at all for a longer period of time. Linz was able to achieve growth in the freight sector.

The "comeback" took place in Upper Austria in May 2021. There were 64 travelers. In June 2021 there were 1.590 passengers and in July 13.403 passengers. In August 2021, Linz counted 16.944 travelers. The non-stop connection to Düsseldorf was reactivated in September 2021. The new operator is Eurowings.
