The German subsidiary of Airline Assistance Switzerland (AAS) has got a new managing director in Christian Schneider. The former Darwin Airline CCO also acts as Chief Business Development & Growth Officer of the AAS group of companies.

With this, Schneider will manage the business in Germany in the future and at the same time be responsible for the business development and the growth of the AAS Group in Switzerland. The ground handling company operates in Zurich-Kloten and Vienna-Schwechat, among others.

In the past, Christian Schneider worked for Lufthansa, Darwin Airline, Adria Airways and Transcom, among others. From Germany, Christian Schneider will lead the implementation of the ambitious growth plans of the AAS and support the broad network in the aviation sector in a constantly changing and increasingly demanding environment.

“It is an honor to have been appointed Managing Director of AAS Germany in addition to my job at the AAS Group, especially in such an exciting and at the same time challenging time for the company. After the difficult COVID-19 period, there are signs of an upswing in the industry. I am confident that, with our many years of experience and expertise, we are well prepared for this growth and that we can continue to expand our business and advance our strategic vision, ”said Schneider.

The AAS Group has taken considerable steps in the last 18 months by opening new stations such as Vienna (Austria) or Palma de Mallorca (Spain) and winning many new customers.

Dieter Streuli, CEO, said: “I am very happy to announce Christian’s new position at AAS. With his personality, his many years of experience in the industry and his skills in building companies, I am delighted to have him on board! Our goal is to continue to grow and to serve our customers on the European market with the highest quality, with Germany being a key market for us. "
