Graz Airport started 2020 with a three percent increase in passenger numbers and two percent more flight movements. In January, 62.114 travelers and 1.043 take-offs or landings were counted. In February there were three percent fewer travelers and since March 2020 things have gone downhill due to the pandemic.

The number of passengers was initially reduced by 69 percent to 23.598 passengers. The number of flight movements fell by 59 percent to 484 take-offs or landings. In April 2020 there were only eleven commercial flight movements. There were 14 travelers on board. In May 2020 it was hardly better: 14 take-offs or landings with 31 passengers.

1.090 passengers used Graz Airport in June 2020. 70 flight movements were carried out. The summer months of July and August 2020, which are otherwise extremely busy, reflect very clearly the general situation in the industry in Graz: In July, with 263 take-offs or landings, 82 percent fewer flights were carried out and only 10.112 travelers were counted - a decrease of 91 percent. August 2020 was also weak with 275 flight movements and a drop in passengers of 87 percent. According to the circumstances, however, in direct comparison with July 2020, it was possible to increase to 13.043 passengers.
