Linz Airport started 19 with a 2020 percent drop in passengers. In January, 18.186 passengers were counted. 392 flight movements were carried out - six percent fewer than in the same month last year. In February 2020, however, there were eight percent more take-offs or landings: 422 aircraft movements and 20.835 passengers.

The effects of the corona pandemic are just as enormous at Linz-Hörsching Airport as at other airports. In March, the number of take-offs or landings fell by 48 percent to 236 flight movements. There was also a 73 percent drop in passengers to 6.922 travelers.

With regard to the number of passengers, the Upper Austrian airport reached absolute zero in the lockdown month of April 2020. There were 126 take-offs or landings, 76 percent fewer than in the same month last year. Since Linz is a popular cargo airport, the Movements can be traced back to this segment.

In May 2020 there were 86 percent fewer take-offs or landings. 92 flight movements were counted. The number of passengers rises to 723 travelers, the vast majority of which can be traced back to harvest helper charter flights. In June 2020, Linz had 88 commercial flight movements and 30 passengers.

927 passengers used the Upper Austrian airport in July 2020. In a direct comparison with the same month last year, this means a minus of 98 percent. Most of the travelers were on charter flights. The number of flight movements was reduced by 83 percent and amounted to 124 take-offs and landings.

In August 2020, Linz had 1.680 passengers. This was 97 percent below the previous year's figure. The number of flight movements was reduced by 81 percent and is reported with 124 take-offs or landings. However, the outlook for Linz is quite optimistic, because Austrian Airlines will resume the non-stop connection to Düsseldorf on November 2, 2020. Lufthansa is still pausing the Frankfurt connection.
