The government of the Russian Federation is further reducing the restrictions on international air traffic. Due to the corona pandemic, both the number and the countries were massively restricted.
The Kremlin announced that regular connections to the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden will be allowed again from November 9, 2021. In traffic with Austria, Finland and Switzerland, the restrictions are to be lifted completely. Put simply, this means that the carriers can fully carry out their offer that existed before the corona pandemic.
There are still restrictions in the direction of Germany. However, the number of flights permitted per week is clearly offered. For example, there are 14 flights a week from Frankfurt am Main to the Russian capital. Seven flights are now allowed to St. Petersburg. Frankfurt was named as an exemplary example.
Covid vaccinations are only progressing very slowly in Russia. Only vaccines that have been developed in their own country are used. The population seems to have a certain distrust of these. Various countries, including Germany, are currently classifying the Russian Federation as a high-risk area in terms of Corona.
