Lufthansa's first Boeing 787-9, D-ABPA, arrived in Frankfurt am Main on Tuesday morning. By 2027, the carrier plans to have 31 more of this type in the fleet. First you want to fly with Dreamliners within Germany.

Due to the temporary delivery stop that was lifted a few days ago, Lufthansa had to wait much longer than originally thought for the first Boeing 787-9. On Tuesday the time had come: The first unit landed at the home base in Frankfurt am Main. The aircraft is registered D-ABPA.

From October 2022, Lufthansa intends to use this long-haul jet for training purposes in domestic traffic. The first intercontinental scheduled destination of the Lufthansa "Dreamliner" will probably be the Canadian metropolis of Toronto.

“With the Boeing 787, we are introducing another modern aircraft type that is one of the most economical long-haul aircraft in our fleet. In this way, we can further significantly improve the average CO2 balance. This aircraft is sustainable and offers customers a premium flight experience,” says Jens Ritter, CEO Lufthansa Airlines.
