Laudamotion, Lauda, Lauda Europe, Ryanair Austria or Airbus-flying Ryanair - the names that are given to the airline are now extremely extensive. The Austrian airline Lauda, officially Laudamotion GmbH, will be replaced by the Maltese Lauda Europe, officially Lauda Europe Ltd. But what is actually changing visibly for the passengers?
The biggest change was made immediately before the resumption of Lauda flight operations, because Ryanair stamped in its own OE flight numbers and downgraded the Austrian subsidiary to an in-house wet lease operator. As a result, all connections are officially Ryanair flights and Laudamotion (OE / LDM) and Lauda Europe (LW / LDA) are currently working as subcontractors. The Austrian company will be shut down and the Maltese Ryanair subsidiary will act as its successor.
As a result, the Austrian emblem on the rear of the machines has given way to a Maltese one. The registrations of the Airbus A320 planes, which are attached, for example, next to the flag and under the wings, no longer begin with OE (Austria), but with 9H (Malta). These changes are the most obvious, because officially nothing changes to the livery.
So completely "nothing changes" is not correct, because the text "laudamotion.com" previously stuck under the lettering "Lauda" on the right of the front entrance door is no longer visible on the Airbus A320 operated by Lauda Europe. The management did not want to comment on the request and only wrote that the photos presented were beautiful. In terms of content, no questions were answered.
Almost everything on board is unchanged. Only the security cards have been replaced and now seem much cheaper. Laudamotion relied on printed cardboard cards, Lauda Europe only uses laminated DIN A4 notes. The visual changes are not worth mentioning, especially since the logo has remained the same, but the note “Lauda Europe” is located in the lower right corner. Not necessarily always visible to the passengers: the ID cards of the employees now have a new design that corresponds to that of the sister company Malta Air. These are one to one, only the Lauda instead of the Malta Air logo is attached.
