According to various booking portals, the current high demand for flights between Germany and Palma de Mallorca has resulted in prices rising significantly. The airlines reject allegations that they “want to take as much money as possible” and unanimously declare that early bookers can always buy cheaper tickets.

At Eurowings, the demand seems to be too high that the announced expansion of the Palma flight plan were increased again. In the time around Easter, the carrier will launch 50 additional flights that can already be booked. For example, Wizz Air, Ryanair, Sundair, Tuifly, Lufthansa and other providers also offer additional connections to Palma during the Easter holidays.

The Lifting of the German travel warning for the Balearic Islands triggered a real booking boom. This is what the Skyscanner portal recorded 600 percent more booking inquiries and that immediately after the government's decision became public. Amongst other things Bavaria and Lower Saxony are now calling for a test obligation for Mallorca returnees. The current legal situation does not provide for this.
