The lifting of the German travel warning for the Balearic Islands led to a sharp increase in new bookings. The Skyscanner portal recorded 600 percent more search queries.

According to the travel agent, Palma de Mallorca has already been the second most popular travel destination for Easter in recent weeks. The security of the Removal of the travel warning takes many travel enthusiasts the last hurdle to book and puts Palma de Mallorca at number 1 of the most sought-after destinations at Easter.

Skyscanner recorded the biggest rush for flights to the Germans' favorite island last Sunday when the travel warning officially fell. The most popular arrival date for the Easter holiday is Good Friday. With an average travel time of less than a week, many Germans seem to be looking for a short trip to the sun for Easter - most of them were looking for tickets for two people.

When booking last weekend, users paid an average of 250 euros for their Mallorca flight. If the Mallorca trip is booked more in advance, the ticket prices will be cheaper: For example, on April 16, 2021, flights can still be booked for less than 100 euros.
