Entry: Germany changes the Infection Protection Act

The German federal government has decided to change the Infection Protection Act. This puts the so-called 3G proof, which is required upon entry, on a different legal basis. So far this has been based on ordinances.

Now the Bundestag and Council are called upon, because the amendment still has to follow the usual parliamentary route. Germany continues to require - regardless of the means of transport and the origin - the submission of a negative test result, a confirmation of a coronavirus disease or a full vaccination against Covid-19.

The change in the legal basis has no effect on the entry rules, because these should - at least for the time being - continue to be applied in their current form. Possibly things could get worse again in the cold season, but that is not yet ready for a decision at this point in time.
