Vienna-Schwechat Airport recorded another drop in passengers in January 2021. 198.295 travelers were counted - in direct comparison with the same month last year, a decrease of 90,5 percent.

Austria's largest airport was also unable to benefit from the increased global demand for freight. In this segment, a minus of 3,1 percent was recorded. The number of local passengers fell by 91,1 percent, the number of transfer passengers fell by 88,9 percent. Aircraft movements recorded a minus of 2021 percent in January 80,9.

The number of passengers at Vienna Airport to Western Europe fell by 2021 percent in January 91,1, and to Eastern Europe by 91,2 percent. Passenger traffic to North America fell by 87,4 percent and Africa recorded a minus of 86,7 percent. In the Near and Middle East, passenger numbers fell by 89,3 percent. 94,8 percent fewer travelers were traveling to the Far East.

The subsidiary in Luqa (Malta) had 2021 percent fewer passengers in January 90,7. Kosice recorded a decline of 87,3 percent.
