In the first half of 2023, the holiday airline Tuifly Belgium will initially deploy three Embraer 195-E2 regional jets. These will be used mainly from Antwerp Airport in Belgium on short and medium-haul flights.

The carrier signed an agreement with the lessor AerCap to lease initially three Embraer 195-E2s. These are intended to close the capacity gap between the four existing Embraer 190 and the Boeing 737 series.

The Tuifly Belgium fleet currently consists of 30 aircraft. These are four Boeing 737-700s, five B737-Max-8s, 14 B737-800s, one B767-300ER, two B787-8s and four Embraer 190s. In the area of regional jets, the four E195s leased from AerCap are being added -E2.

The takeover of the newcomers should take place between January and June 2023. The four aircraft will have 136 seats in a one-class configuration. Tuifly Belgium will primarily use the regional jets from Antwerp, an airport with a short runway. "They will fly to airports that are further away, which will enable us to open up new holiday destinations from northern Belgium," explains Managing Director Marco Ciomperlik.
