Hellofly, a virtual airline based in Malta, intends to market non-stop flights from Luqa to Lampedusa and Comiso in the 2024 summer schedule. These are to be carried out with ATR42-500 operated by Nyx Air. And from Lampedusa onwards there is much more to come.
The Lampedusa route will be operated on Mondays and Fridays from June 24, 2024. The cheapest one-way ticket is available from 64 euros. It goes to Comiso from the same date on the same traffic days. The starting price is also the same.
These are not the only new additions planned for the summer of 2024, as Hellofly announced a few days ago that it would be adding non-stop flights from Bari, Perugia, Comiso and Trapani to Lampedusa next year. Since you have neither an AOC nor an operating license, these are formally charter flights. These are to be carried out with ATR42-500 turboprop aircraft from the Estonian Nyx Air.
The Lampedusa Tourism Association and local incoming agencies have stated that they will support Hellofly in marketing. They particularly want to make the island flights attractive to tour operators. The aim is to bring more tourists to the Italian island. In recent years, Lampedusa has repeatedly made headlines due to the arrival of large numbers of refugees.
According to Lampedusa Airport, the ATR42-500 operated by Nyx Air is scheduled to be stationed on site from June 2024 for the summer of 2024. Hellofly is not a new company, but has been active as a marketer for several years. The route network offered has always been strongly focused on Italy, but varies from year to year.
