On February 7, 2022, Morocco will lift the current ban on international passenger flights. About two months ago, this was pronounced at extremely short notice due to the Omicron variant.

Airlines are currently only allowed to fly passengers out of the African country, but not to fly them in. This does not apply to approved repatriation flights. There are no restrictions worth mentioning for cargo connections. The ban imposed by Morocco was criticized by various airlines as ineffective.

The government has now announced that international passenger flights will be allowed again with effect from February 7, 2022. Nevertheless, it will take some time until the flight programs are reactivated, because many carriers have already withdrawn their offers for the upcoming calendar month early.
