From its hubs in Frankfurt am Main and Munich, Lufthansa will offer some new destinations in the 2024 summer flight schedule that, at least recently, were not in its portfolio.
From the Bavarian capital, the Kranich Group will set course for Trondheim from April 28, 2024. The Norwegian city will initially be visited twice a week. Non-stop flights to Nantes from Munich will also be offered on April 28, 2024. Lufthansa initially intends to operate this route three times a week.
The connection between Munich and Oulu in Finland in the 2023/2024 winter flight schedule is being extended. Lufthansa will continue to serve the northernmost major city in the European Union in the summer of 2024. Germany's largest aviation company said it is currently planned to carry out two round trips per week.
From Frankfurt am Main, Lufthansa wants to set course for Chișinău from April 29, 2029. Initially, five rotations per week will be carried out in the capital of the Republic of Moldova. Recently, the IATA code of Chișinău Airport was changed. For several decades this was called KIV and was derived from the city's Russian name, Кишинёв (Kishinev). They wanted to get rid of this, which is why the airport now has the abbreviation RMO. The three letters should stand for Republic of Moldova.
