With two Airbus A400M, the German Federal Armed Forces were guests at the Austrian airport Salzburg on Wednesday. It doesn't happen very often that the Luftwaffe comes to the Alpine Republic with two of these transport aircraft.
The two A400M belong to the Wunstorf air base and were flown to Salzburg from there. There, numerous soldiers who were active in the Berchtesgaden area climbed on. The two turboprop aircraft then flew towards Scandinavia.
Salzburg Airport confirmed that the German Bundeswehr carried out a troop transport. Due to the proximity, the Austrian airport was used. The Bundeswehr also confirmed on request that soldiers who had previously been in Bavaria were promoted.
