Icelandair has wiped out the first two Boeing 737 Max 8 planes and transferred them from Lleida Alguaire in Spain to the Keflavik home base. The two medium-haul jets arrived in Iceland on Sunday.
It is the Boeing 737 Max 8 with the registrations TF-ICN and TF-ICO. These were already delivered to Icelandair before the worldwide flight ban and were parked in the so-called Long Time Storage due to the operating ban in Spain. The two machines reached Keflavik on Sunday at 13 p.m. and 12:13 p.m., respectively.
Icelandair intends to put the Boeing 737 Max 8, which it took over before the worldwide forced grounding, back into commercial service in spring 2021. With the help of this pattern, that's what Network can be started up gradually. The carrier highlights the Boeing 737 Max 8's lower operating costs as beneficial.
