For a long time, Emirates Airline in Dubai has offered the option of checking in in the city center and checking in your suitcase at the same time. Now its competitor Air Arabia is following suit and has also opened a city check-in.

This is located in the Al Fahidi district and brings the number of such establishments spread across various UAE cities to 12. According to Air Arabia, passengers can receive their boarding passes and hand in their luggage at the city offices from 24 hours to a maximum of eight hours before the scheduled departure time.

The new facility in Dubai's Al Dahidi district also has shuttle services to Sharjah Airport, which is primarily used by Air Arabia in this UAE region. However, the bus transfer is not yet in operation and will only be activated in the next few weeks. There should be no additional costs associated with using the low-cost car for passengers.

According to Air Arabia, additional packages for luggage and desired seats can also be booked and paid for at city check-in if required. It should also be possible to make rebookings. This city office can be used for departures from Sharjah Airport. A similar facility is available in the capital of the United Arab Emirates for flights operated by sister company Air Arabia Abu Dhabi from Abu Dhabi Airport.

The airlines of the Air Arabia group are actually positioned as low-cost airlines. There is fierce competition, especially in the United Arab Emirates, with Emirates, Fly Dubai, Etihad and Wizz Air Abu Dhabi. This is probably also the reason why they have opened their own city check-in offices following the example of Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways and now have 12 of them, which are located in various cities in the desert state. According to the company, they want to offer passengers added value and hope that additional travelers will choose Air Arabia because they can also offer this service.
