Since the beginning of the corona pandemic, India has repeatedly practiced massive restrictions in the area of air traffic. Minister of Transport Jyotiraditya Scindia announced that the last restrictions will be lifted without replacement on March 27, 2022.

The background to the decision is that the number of new infections has recently fallen sharply. The vaccination rate is also said to have risen sharply in recent weeks, so that this step was taken.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, has issued repeated aviation restrictions since the beginning of the corona pandemic. Some of these have also affected domestic flights. Most recently, flights to India were only allowed from countries that had signed a bilateral agreement. On March 27, 2022, the last restrictions are to be lifted without replacement.
