US President Joe Biden has issued a decree prohibiting entry from Tuesday to people who have been in India and who do not have US citizenship. Apart from the passport, you are only exempt from this if you have a US residence permit or diplomatic status. There are also special rules in the humanitarian area.

The US President's order has no expiration date. In a message, Biden explains briefly that India is said to be responsible for more than a third of all corona cases. Furthermore, one wants to prevent the "introduction" of the mutation that first appeared there. Entry for non-US citizens who previously stayed in the Schengen Area, UK, Ireland, China, Brazil, Iran and South Africa will remain open.

Mask requirement extended until September 2021

The transport safety authority TSA announced on Friday that the mask requirement in public transport will be extended until at least September 2021. This also expressly includes airplanes. The original order was limited to May 11, 2021.

There was no general mask requirement under Donald Trump. This was only introduced under Joe Biden. However, covering the mouth and nose was previously required by various cities and states.
