Innsbruck Airport will restrict its operating times from October 1, 2020. The majority of the workforce will - as reported - be sent back to short-time work. However, the airport emphasizes that you are always ready for emergencies. The shops, the restaurant and even the tobacco shop are closing.

"Due to the current situation, we unfortunately had to decide to go back to short-time work at Innsbruck Airport from October 1, 2020," says Airport Managing Director Marco Pernetta. “The number of flights is simply too low at the moment and in the coming weeks. From October 5, 2020, the operating times of the airport and the opening times of the terminal will also be adjusted. We ask all passengers and those collecting them to come to the airport no earlier than two hours before departure or arrival, so as not to have to stand in front of closed doors ”.

The police and Christophorus heliport adjacent to the airport is not affected by these restrictions. The airport police station will also remain open.

Due to the weak demand, the MPreis grocery store, the Ruetz bakery and the airport restaurant and tobacco shop (Airport Shop) at the airport will also close completely for the time being. The same applies to the Travel Value Shop (Duty Free Shop) and the Business Lounge. As soon as there are more flights again and the demand increases, they will of course be open again. Other airport-based companies - such as car rental companies - are still open and accessible, and customers are encouraged to contact the company directly with any inquiries.
