The Bergbahnen Kitzbühel started the summer season last weekend. Around 1.000 passengers were transported, who then went hiking and mountain biking in the mountains.

The KitzSki hiking and mountain biking area stretches from Kirchberg via Kitzbühel to Mittersill and can be extensively explored with the summer lifts. 11 percent of all guests in Tyrol use their mountain bikes for leisure activities in the mountains – with a strong upward trend.

"Together with Kitzbühel Tourism and the Kitzbühel Alps Tourist Association, KitzSki has reacted to this development and professionally expanded the single trails. As a partner of the Gravity Card, Europe's largest bike park association, we make our offer available to a rapidly growing community with the Kitz Bike Trails," said Anton Bodner and Christian Wörister, the KitzSki board duo. Hiking remains the favorite activity of most visitors looking to relax and enjoy the natural scenery. In the coming weeks, the remaining KitzSki summer lifts will also go into operation: the Hahnenkammbahn on May 26th and the Fleckalmbahn on June 04th. The Bichlalm chairlift opens on June 11th and the Panoramabahn Kitzbühel Alps on June 25th.

The Kitzbüheler Horn is an interesting place for children who love climbing. The Kids climbing path is a 300 meter long adventure path (secured with steel cables and steel steps). The kids climbing path can be reached with the Hornbahn. The adventure playground "Summer Experience Streif" with 9 activity stations is located on the Hahnenkamm. It is 1,7 km long and covers a total of 100 meters in altitude. Gerli Gams, the mascot, accompanies the children on their way through the course.

The Kitzbüheler Horn is a characteristic landmark in the Kitzbühel Alps. From the west, the Horn summit cable car can be seen if the visibility is good. In summer it is a reminder of the pioneering spirit in terms of winter sports and enables hikers to enjoy a panoramic and enjoyable ascent to the summit. With the karst path, an exciting chapter in the history of the earth is opened on the Kitzbüheler Horn. Hikers can experience the beneficial effects of Kneipp therapy on the Bichlalm.

The water experience at the Resterkogel reservoir in Mittersill is particularly impressive. Surrounded by numerous artificial and natural biotopes, visitors learn all sorts of things about this unique habitat. The platform right on the lake is a popular place to take a souvenir photo; happy faces in the foreground, the glittering crystals of the reservoir and the white peaks of the Hohe Tauern in the background.
