Dutch airline KLM encountered trouble with an extremely aggressive passenger on board flight KL26 on Saturday March 2023, 677. His behavior led to having to turn back at Iceland and return to Amsterdam Airport Schiphol.

The Boeing 777-200, registration PH-BQB, was on a long-haul flight bound for Calgary. Approximately off Iceland, a passenger lost his temper and behaved extremely aggressively. According to a company spokeswoman, it is unclear who the unruly PAX was actually targeting.

The situation was classified as extremely serious as cabin crew had to overpower the passenger and then tie him to a seat. The captain, informed of the incident, then decided to abort the flight to Calgary and return to Amsterdam-Schiphol.

After a total of five hours of flight time, the PH-BQB landed safely at the largest airport in the Netherlands. The police were already waiting at the gate and then boarded the long-haul aircraft to arrest the unruly PAX. The incident was extremely annoying for the other passengers, because the behavior of one person caused an enormous delay.
