Kuwait extends the entry ban for non-citizens indefinitely. Originally this was limited to 14 days. The Gulf state wants to prevent the introduction of corona mutations. Kuwait had already had complicated entry requirements before that.

Local media report that the tourist booking situation is said to be “good”, but that hoteliers now have to worry about their business as guests are not even allowed to enter. Since Kuwait had put a total of 35 countries on a red list and required that one must have stayed in a third country for 14 days before entering the country, many are now "stranded" in Dubai.

This does not necessarily affect tourists, but rather people who work in Kuwait but do not have citizenship. For example, some Indian service employees are said to have been stuck in Dubai for around four weeks. Until February 7, 2021, the rule was that a 14-day quarantine in a third country was necessary. Kuwait then surprised many with a general entry ban for foreigners, which has now been extended indefinitely.
