Apparently, the Germans are finally fed up with the “stay at home” slogans of their government, because Lufthansa is reporting a sharp increase in bookings in the direction of Palma de Mallorca. For this reason, long-haul aircraft of the Boeing 747-8 and Airbus A350 types will also be used from Munich and Frankfurt in July and August.

Between April and the beginning of June 2021, the number of new bookings is expected to have increased 25 times. During the summer vacation in Hesse, Lufthansa will deploy a Boeing 747-8 from Frankfurt on four consecutive Saturdays and an Airbus A350 from Munich to Palma at the start of the Bavarian vacation. On July 31, 2021, two long-haul aircraft will take off from Germany for the Balearic Islands. An Airbus A321 would be en route on this connection as planned.

It starts at the start of the Hessian summer vacation on Saturday, July 17th. At 10:20 am, the "Jumbo" with flight number LH1152 leaves the Rhine-Main metropolis in the direction of the Balearic Islands, where it reaches Palma de Mallorca airport at 12:25 pm. The return flight with flight number LH1153 is then planned for 14:25 p.m., arriving in Frankfurt at 16:45 p.m. The modern Boeing 747-8 will then be used on three additional weekend days: July 24th, July 31st and finally August 7th, 2021.

The A350 flight to Palma de Mallorca will take off from Munich on Saturday, July 31, at the beginning of the Bavarian summer holidays. Departure from Munich is at 9:50 a.m. with flight number LH2658, landing in Palma de Mallorca is planned at 12:00 p.m. The return flight LH2659 takes place at 13 p.m., landing in Munich at 30 p.m.
