The new Austrian Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) explained in the National Council's Health Committee that it is currently planned that vaccinations against the coronavirus should only lead to relief for "around six months".
Should the federal government implement the minister’s plan, this would have serious consequences for those who have been vaccinated. About half a year after your last dose, these entry restrictions and exemptions from the obligation to test would be lost again. Apparently, Mückstein is building on a statement by the Pfizer Group that it is currently assumed that a third dose will be necessary after six to twelve months and, from today's perspective, it is suspected that annual vaccinations will have to be carried out.
The Austrian Minister of Health also said that it is currently planned that evidence for those who have recovered should be valid for around six months. Positive antibody tests should facilitate entry and access for three months. The period of validity is very short, which is why bottlenecks could arise in the next few months.
