Norwegian Air UK no longer pays the wages

The employees of Norwegian Air UK did not receive a salary on February 1, 2021. According to the Balpa union, they were instead told that they would not receive any wages, vacation pay or dismissal pay.

In doing so, the employee representatives are referring to the notification from KPMG, which is acting as the insolvency administrator of Norwegian Air UK. The continuation of this airline is not planned, which is why the liquidation has been initiated.

Balpa is angry with the management, as they promised payment of the wages just a few weeks ago. Now the employee representatives are demanding clarification and also point out that the group is in its home country Norway Government financial assistance is obtained. In this context, it is criticized that the UK subsidiary has been dropped and the employees have no longer received any money.
