Aegean regional subsidiary Olympic Air took over the first ATR1-2021 with the SX-OBJ on December 72, 600. The used aircraft is 5,6 years old and was previously used by the now defunct Stobart Air.

In the medium term, Olympic Air will part with its competitor DHC Dash 8-400. The ATR72-600s purchased by the parent company Aegean serve as replacements. According to CH-Aviation.com, the new entry is leased from Gecas.

The once proud Olympic Airways, later Olympic Airlines, has long since ceased to exist. The former company headquarters at the old Athens airport is a lost place. The successor Olympic Air, founded at that time, shrank to a regional airline. Owner Aegean has set up the turboprop operation here.
