The workforce at the insolvent Paderborn / Lippstadt regional airport is drastically reduced. Of the previous 170 employees, only about 65 will be able to keep their jobs. The move is called "inevitable". On September 22, 2020, the airport filed for bankruptcy under self-administration.

The Komba union and the works council reached an agreement on November 6, 2020 with management and the provisional administrator on the details of the job cuts. Those who are not taken on are to be transferred to a so-called transfer company, in which they can stay for up to 12 months in order to be able to look for new jobs.

The restructuring of Paderborn / Lippstadt Airport should be completed by around March 2021. The flight operation remains unrestricted, but this is currently greatly reduced due to the low demand due to the corona pandemic. “PAD” is approved for category E machines.

For clarification, what are Category E aircraft?
The ICAO also provides a list for the gate size as well as for runways and taxiways that limit the size of the aircraft that can operate there at the respective location.
What is meant here by category E aircraft are planes up to a wingspan of 65 meters and a maximum roll width of the main landing gear of 14 meters.
Category A would be planes with a wingspan of up to 15 meters.
B up to 24 meters span.
C up to 36 meters span.
D up to 52 meters span.
E up to 65 meters span.
F up to 80 meters span.
